I've proven this out by applying the telephone (version 1.6) in the same spot, the duplicate succession of apps, for the very period of time (about six hours), with and without task killer and with and without that battery saver app that shuts down the radio and enables it just sporadically. To my surprise, neither bettered my battery lifespan at all, and the battery saver app really worsened it somewhat.
